The Exorcist has taken possession of John Cho, tapping the Sleepy Hollow vet to join the series’ second season as a regular.
As TVLine previously reported, the thriller is overhauling its cast in Season 2 as the priestly trio of Alfonso Herrera, Kurt Egyiawan and Ben Daniels (aka the only series regulars returning) preside over a new possession case.

 

According to Fox, Herrera’s Father Ortega and Daniels’ newly collarless Marcus Keane find themselves out of Chicago and on the road, searching out evil. Ultimately, the two men are led to Cho’s Andrew Kim, a former child psychologist who runs a group home for five at-risk foster children on a secluded private island off the coast of Seattle. When one of the children under Andrew’s care is targeted by a powerful force, the two priests head west, setting themselves on a collision course with Hell. [Source]

John Cho (Star Trek Beyond) has booked a key recurring role on the third season of Hulu’s praised comedy series Difficult People.

Produced by Universal Cable Productions, Difficult People stars Julie Klausner and Billy Eichner as two besties living in New York City whose typical, irreverent behavior lands them in some very awkward situations. Cho will play Todd in a multi-episode arc. Billy (Eichner) has finally met his romantic match with Todd, his first real boyfriend – an advertising executive who’s as much of a dick as Billy and Julie (Klausner). Billy and Todd connect after neither of them backs down from a prank war, and season 3 follows the pair as Billy has to navigate “couple” things, having only had Julie has a soul mate previously. Also starring are Andrea Martin as Marilyn, James Urbaniak as Arthur, and Cole Escola as Matthew, with Gabourey Sidibe as Denise, Derrick Baskin as Nate and Shakina Nayfack as Lola. [Source]

Insiders tell Variety the cabler is developing “Connoisseur,” an hourlong drama hailing from Gary Lundy, “Hand of God” creator Ben Watkins and “Star Trek’s” John Cho, who will star in the series.

“Connoisseur” centers around Clay Park (played by Cho), a brilliant con artist who dupes the wealthiest, most powerful people in the country into paying millions for fake wine, but his hustle forces him into a deadly bargain with an organized crime syndicate, puts him in the cross-hairs of the FBI, and unearths the details of a tragedy that fractured his family years ago in Korea.

USA bought a script for the series, which is based on Lundy’s original idea. Lundy, Watkins and Cho will all serve as executive producers with Lundy writing. Watkins will produce by way of his Blue Monday Productions shingle and his producing partner Eli Dansky will serve as a producer. [Source]
